‘Parks & Rec’ Released The Tracklist For ‘Benji’s Cool Times Summer Jamz Mix’

We were only briefly introduced to Benji’s Cool Times Summer Jamz Mix on last night’s episode of Parks & Recreation. Basically all we knew about it was that it started with “Shoop” by Salt-N-Pepa, and that we were not to judge him for it. Considering that I just checked and I can still do the entire first verse of the song off the top of my head, and I am therefore in no place to judge, the latter point was moot anyway. Regardless, it was a cool little bit.

But then this morning the heroes at Parks went out and took it to 11 by releasing the full track list of Benji’s Cool Times Summer Jamz Mix on their Facebook page, and making it available through Spotify. The list is after the jump, and I think it provides us with a nice little window into the mind of Ben Wyatt.

OK, putting aside the fact that the correct Boyz II Men song for a “Summer Jamz” list is CLEARLY “Motownphilly” (I have very strong feeling about this), I have only one major bone to pick with Ben’s selections. One of the following songs HAS to be on the list: “Regulators” by Warren G and Nate Dogg, “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan, or “What’s Goin’ On” by 4 Non Blondes. Has to be on there. And if this is a road trip mix, you have to consider “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias for embarrassingly earnest sing-a-long purposes.

My vote is Montell Jordan, but, hey, it’s your list. Think about it, though.
