Last June we brought you the very exciting news that LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian would be getting their very own VH1 reality show, creatively titled LeAnn & Eddie. At the time I expressed excitement over the schadenfreude of a reality series that the entire point of was to “rub [their] marriage into everybody’s faces,” but when it came down to it I never ended up watching.
I guess the overall sentiment was that in theory a reality show about a former teen pop star and her total Jefferson Darcy of a husband was entertaining, but that’s about as far as it went because LeAnn & Eddie has been canceled after just one season. Via Us Weekly:
“This show gave us an opportunity to take back our lives in a way and show a different side of us than what people really believe,” Rimes explained when the series premiered. “Look, if their minds are changed or opened or whatever, that’s wonderful. But if not, I don’t think we’re really set up to change anyone’s mind,” she insisted.
So now if you want to follow the titillating lives of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, you’ll just have to do it on Twitter and Instagram. So you know, business as usual. Speaking of which, LeAnn posted the following image on Instagram yesterday because you can take her reality show, but you’ll never rob her of her spirit. HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH, GURL.
