Toot-Toot! All aboard the Reboot Train! Next stop, a new version of the 2000 Guy Ritchie dark comedy and cult classic, Snatch! Crackle has reboot fever and will join the likes of CBS, TNT, TV Land ,and let’s face it, everyone else. The online TV network announced that they will be working on a revamped version of the Jason Statham and Brad Pitt Brit flick at the network’s upfront presentation. Screen Crush said the show will be similar to FX’s successful reboot of Fargo:
“Much like the television series, ‘Fargo,’ Crackle will carry the spirit of the setting in the original feature film, while creating a new world born from the original movie. Informed by a real life gold bullion heist in London, the show centers on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.”
It’s pretty safe to say that Pitt or Statham won’t be taking part in this series, but there hasn’t been word yet on casting or production decisions. What’s the next Guy Ritchie reboot? It better not be Swept Away.
