The Walking Dead season 7 trailer debuted today at San Diego’s 2016 Comic-Con. There’s one question that every The Walking Dead fan wants to know about the seventh-season premiere, and that’s not a question the trailer for the upcoming season is going to answer. We’re going to have to wait two more months to find out who Negan kills, unless the Internet spoils it first. AMC, so far, has done a good job of keeping it under wraps, while the Internet has really only muddied the waters by throwing out dozens of contradicting theories.
There will be more to season 7 of The Walking Dead than Negan’s victim. There will be a lot of Negan, who may be one of the most exciting characters on television since Breaking Bad‘s Walter White. Chances are, even after he kills someone in the season premiere, he’ll kill again, because Negan is a charming sociopath.
There’s also The Kingdom to look forward to, and that’s where Morgan and Carol look to be heading when the seventh season begins. There, we get to meet King Ezekiel and his tiger, Shiva (AMC can apparently still afford a tiger). We will also get to see more of Negan’s henchmen, the Saviors, including Dwight. The Hilltop Colony will also play a major role in the seventh season of The Walking Dead, and Hilltoppers Gregory (Xander Berkeley) and Jesus (Tom Payne) have also been upgraded to series regulars. There’s a big world out there, and The Walking Dead plans to explore it.
Gale: we're expanding the world. And meeting friend and foe. Maybe some non-human characters as well. Meow.

David Alpert: this is so much larger in scale and scope than we ever thought possible.

Sounds like we'll really see the factions and how they're led and will work together. Or clash…

What else is in store for the seventh season? We’ll see Rick and his crew picking up the pieces after they lose one of their own to Negan, but we may also see a continuation of the war between Rick’s people and Negan’s men. Rick may have lost the battle, but that’s not a conflict that is going away anytime soon.
Most importantly, we’ll finally find out if Enid managed to escape the closet Carl left her locked in during the sixth season finale.
The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 23 on AMC.
