K.J. McDaniels isn’t participating in All-Star Weekend’s Slam Dunk Contest. This play he made in last night’s game against the Golden State Warriors will make you wonder why. And perhaps that reality – the 21 year-old’s lack of national prominence – is among reasons why the league offered against extending him a dunk-off invite. McDaniels is clearly one of the most athletic wings in basketball, and has already compiled a plethora of swatting and slamming highlights in his brief career to prove it.
Considering his knack for highlight reel play and the creativity he shows off here, we certainly hope McDaniels is given the opportunity to shine on next season’s All-Star Saturday stage.
