This Mom Won Free Tuition For Her Daughter With A Ridiculously Lucky Half-Court Shot

The benevolent basketball gods bestowed a gift upon Angela Ramey and her daughter Grace. Bethany Academy, in Bloomington, Minnesota, chose Grace to participate in a half-court shooting contest where she could win half off a year’s tuition. Grace had never played basketball, but her mother Angela had a storied career for her fifth- and sixth-grade basketball teams. They received three attempts between the two of them to win the grand prize. The first two attempts from Grace and her mom were, uh, not good.

Before the third attempt, Angela threw up a little prayer that must have filled her with the spirit of Steph Curry, because she made the most ridiculous half-court shot possible. Her shot fell so short that she put her head down in disappointment before the ball miraculously floated off the hardwood into the hoop. The shot can be described as nothing but a miracle.

Grace was chosen to shoot the half-court shot because she raised the most money in a fundraiser her school put on for needy children. This was a reward for her good deeds. Ball don’t lie, I suppose.
