Kickstart the Frotcast’s Juggalo Vision Quest!

What’s up, you guys. Remember our live Frotcast Kickstarter from last year? Well that turned out great, so this year we’re planning something even better – better for you, the reader/listener, that is: a trip to the Gathering of the Juggalos. From whence we can beam you live reports as we go on our Juggalo Vision Quest fueled by Mama Gypsy and her famous space cakes. Frankly, I’m terrified. Here, I’ll let Ben explain:

Dear Filmdrunk Readers,

I interrupt your regularly scheduled Keanu Photoshops, C-Tates worship, and Jason Statham commentary to bring you this very important news:  Your Editor-in-Chief/Chef Vince, Ben from the Frotcast and Laremy Legel are planning a trip to the 2013 Gathering of the Juggalos to make an epic documentary for your viewing pleasure.

To make this documentary effort a reality, we have started a Kickstarter project to help with the project budget:

(turn down your speakers. sorry about the audio and our faces)

Any financial support would be extremely generous. AND you will get something in return. Our goal is the have one professionally filmed/ edited documentary as well as one audio Frotcast for your enjoyment. There are sponsorship opportunities as well.

If you are anything like me, you are fascinated with the Juggalos, and admire their dedication to rap-clowning, partying, clown face paint and saying “woop woop.”. Going to the heart of Juggalo Nation seems like the perfect opportunity to learn more about the entire Juggalo world, and what happens during the Gathering of the Juggalos. Consider this an expedition into uncharted territory.

Our plan is to fly into Chicago, meet up with the film and production crew, rent an RV and drive the 6 hours to Cave-in-Rock, Illinois (right in the middle of nowhere). We will spend several nights at the Gathering, drinking Faygo, painting our faces, partying, interviewing people, and getting to know just what it’s like to be a Juggalo. [Just to clarify, our mission is NOT to go make fun of people, though I expected people to think that. It may have started out as something to make fun of, but at a certain point, we became genuinely interested in the phenomenon. -Vince]
