Do you feel like recent games have been taking it too easy on you? In the mood for a bit of punishment? Well, you masochists out there are in for a treat, because the first major expansion to Dark Souls III is almost here.
Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel will task players with tracking a “mysterious person” through a new wintery location unlike anything we’ve seen in a Souls game before. Aside from that basic description, the story is unknown, but Dark Souls isn’t really about story. The real point of the expansion is the collection of new weapons, magic, enemies, and soul-crushingly hard bosses. The latter are the highlight of the latest Ashes of Ariandel footage — this time around you’ll be dying repeatedly against a giant wolf and a scythe-wielding woman who transforms into a giant monstrosity.

Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel arrives to make you suffer October 25. A second (and final) Dark Souls III expansion has been promised for early 2017.
