In this world, nothing can be said to be certain except death, taxes, and that when FIFA drops every fall, Lionel Messi will be the best player. Well, that has been the case for the last few years, but FIFA 17‘s best player is someone other than Barcelona’s legendary forward.

Instead, that honor goes to Messi’s biggest rival: Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. The list of the top 50 players on everyone’s favorite soccer game was released over the last week, with the top 3 of Ronaldo, Messi, and Barcelona winger Neymar rounding out the list. Here’s the entire top 50:

This year’s version of FIFA is more hotly anticipated than usual, as Frostbite has taken control of the game engine. Footy fans, understandably, cannot wait to get their hands on the game, which comes out September 27 in North America. In the meantime, they’ll surely debate over these ratings, because any time Ronaldo is ranked above Messi in anything, soccer fans get fired up.
