Chris Hemsworth is barely recognizable after his extreme ‘In the Heart of the Sea’ regimen

When Chris Hemsworth joined Instagram a month ago, one of the first things he share was his workout routine. Keeping up that Thor physique isn”t easy. Perhaps he even normally adheres to the Gaston regimen…”Every morning I eat five dozen eggs, so I”m roughly the size of a barge.”

Hemsworth”s roles normally require him to be in top, muscled form. But not “In the Heart of the Sea.”  Breaking #TBT protocol to post this photo on a Monday, Hemsworth showcased what he went through for the part back in 2013.

Just tried a new diet/training program called “Lost At Sea”. Wouldn't recommend it.. #IntheHeartoftheSea

During production of “In the Heart of the Sea,” Hemsworth went on Jimmy Kimmel to promote “Thor: The Dark World” and talked about his intense diet. All of the actors were put on 500 to 600 calorie caps to bring realism to their plight of starving while lost at sea.

“In the Heart of the Sea” arrives in theaters December 11.
