Dane DeHaan won’t say if he’s the Green Goblin in ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ but did someone else give it away?

PARK CITY – Dane DeHaan is going to soon discover that once you’re in a blockbuster franchise you can’t escape questions about it no matter where you are.

Speaking to HitFix at the world premiere of his new drama “Kill Your Darlings,” the “Chronicle” star admitted he couldn’t say much about his role as Harry Osborn in “Amazing Spider-Man 2.” However, he did confirm that he’ll be involved in a love triangle in “Spider-Man 2,” but didn’t reveal whether it involved Osborn, Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson or Osborn, Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.  This of course, was before “Darlings” premiered.  Afterward?  Well, “Darlings” director John Krokidas may have made an important and yet not that surprising revelation.

Krokidas introduced the cast of “Darlings” which includes Daniel Radcliffe, Ben Foster and Michael C. Hall. When he got to DeHaan he said “He’s the Green Goblin.”  DeHaan just smiled, but it didn’t seem like Krokidas was kidding.

Of course, most Spidey fans would expect Osborn to have a connection to the Goblin, but not to re-introduce the villain in just the second installment of the rebooted franchise.

Check out what DeHaan had to say about “Amazing Spider-Man 2” in the video embedded at the top of this post.
