J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy update ‘Star Wars’ fans on Harrison Ford

Kathleen Kenneedy called Harrison Ford a “badass” after regretfully revealing that the actor wouldn't be able to make an appearance at “The Force Awakens” panel at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, Calif. today.

“[Ford] is the only person who could make an emergency landing on a golf course in front of two doctors,” LucasFilm prez Kennedy told the massive audience gathered at the Anaheim Convention Center. “I can't begin to tell you how much he wanted to be here.”

In early March, Ford sustained injuries from an antique plane accident in California; he was piloting the plane and made an emergency crash land on a golf course.

Kennedy said the man known as Han Solo in the “Star Wars” universe expects to still be “very actively involved” in promoting “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” later this year.

“He sends his best and he's doing great and working hard,” said “Star Wars VII” director J.J. Abrams. “How he landed that plane… He”s more of a hero with that move than he is in any of the movies he's been in.”
