Margot Robbie to produce ‘Suicide Squad’ spin-off

It”s good to be bad.

THR.com is reporting that Harley Quinn herself, Margot Robbie, just signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. As part of the arrangement, Robbie will executive produce the Quinn spin-off film that”s been in development since before Suicide Squad even hit the theaters. The flick is reported to focus not only on Harley, but a number of other female DC characters.

Robbie has a number of movies in development, most notably I, Tonya, the Tonya Harding biopic and Queen of the Air, about trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel.

Suicide Squad, which focused heavily on Quinn, was a big, but not quite huge, hit for Warner Bros. The anti-superhero movie has grossed just over $700 million worldwide. A nice number to say the least, but when you consider comparable ensemble flicks like Avengers: Age of Ultron brought in double that amount and Captain America: Civil War raked in $1.1 billion, it probably didn”t deliver all they”d hoped.

The release date for the Harley Quinn movie has not yet been announced.
