Marvel casts ‘Matrix’ alum Carrie-Anne Moss in mysterious ‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones’

“A.K.A. Jessica Jones” is shaping up and the heavy-hitter casting announcements keep on rolling. With Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker) already in them mix, it looked like principal casting was complete. Until today.

Marvel and Netflix have announced that Carrie-Anne Moss – best known for her work as Trinity in “The Matrix” trilogy – will be joining the show. But who will she play? Marvel gave only this vague description:

“Moss plays a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica…if Jessica doesn”t completely alienate her first.”

Marvel goes on to quote Jeph Loeb, Marvel”s Head of Television, as saying, “Carrie-Anne has proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives.”

Well, THAT”S not a lot to go on. But! If we use Jessica Jones” comics “Alias” and “The Pulse” as a jumping off point, a handful of potential women stick out. Why start there? Well, Marvel”s made no secret that the Netflix version of “A.K.A. Jessica Jones” will pick up after the titular character has shed her superhero cape for a private eye”s trench coat. So it would make sense for them to mine characters from that part of her comic book life as well.

After the jump, see five potential characters that Carrie-Anne Moss could be playing.
