13 years ago today, we first got to see the delightful tale of a forgetful blue tang and a little clownfish far from home. Finding Nemo opened in theaters on May 30, 2003.
After that opening, it went on to become the highest grossing G-rated film of all time, before Pixar”s own Toy Story 3 overpassed it in 2010. In 2008, the American Film Institute named Finding Nemo the 10th best animated film of all time – the one other Pixar movie on the list is Toy Story.
Finding Nemo is the fifth feature released by the Emeryville, CA-based animation studio. Finding Dory, Pixar”s 17th feature, will open in theaters this June.
