Watch: Phoenix’s new video for ‘Trying To Be Cool’

As the thermometer heats up, Phoenix is just “Trying To Be Cool” in its new video for the second single from “Bankrupt.”

[More after the jump…]

The clip features the French alternative band performing the song live as they change locations every 20 seconds or so in a warehouse (note the countdown clock in almost every scene). A number of increasingly odd, random acts play out, such as lead singer Thomas Mars performing as he picks out a mustache while doing a Michael Jackson-styled anti-gravity lean, ruining a kid”s chess game, or playing ping-pong with himself. The shoot culminates with the band coming together to play in a room filled with a group of dancers.

Produced by the Creators Project, the video is one of those that you will catch something different every time you watch it.

Phoenix is on the European tour circuit right now, but will start a North American outing Aug. 2 in Montreal. For a complete list of tour dates, go here.
