Drew McWeeny has an amazing scoop this morning. Director Joseph Kahn has filmed an unauthorized anti-fan Power Rangers reboot, entitled “Power/Rangers.”
Drew scored the director's only interview explaining the project. It's a fascinating conversation that explores the reaches of this new quasi-common ownership of stories that the internet has wrought. The film itself really takes what has become the modern template for reboots – two heaping tablespoons of brooding hero mixed with one cup of dystopian near future world – and pushed it to its logical end point.
