Horror Nerds: This John Carpenter cult classic is screening at an incredible location

“Prince of Darkness” may not be one of John Carpenter's better-remembered films, but it's become a cult classic among horror/Carpenter aficionados in the nearly three decades since its release. And if you're a fan who lives in Los Angeles, your loyalty is set to be rewarded with a very cool opportunity courtesy of Horror's Hallowed Grounds: a screening of the movie inside the actual church where it was filmed. This is location porn of the highest order, friends.

According to the official post on HHG's Facebook page, the screening (co-hosted by HorrorHound magazine and in association with East West Players and Visual Communications) will include “special guests and Q&A,” a “tour of all interior and exterior locations used in the film with photo opportunities,” “special prizes and giveaways” and a “courtyard reception with cash bar.” Will John Carpenter be in attendance? Don't bet on it! But this is, all told, a must-attend event for “Prince of Darkness” fans based in Los Angeles (or those who are willing to travel great distances in order to get there).

The screening will take place on October 28, with all proceeds going to the Union Center of the Arts, the church-turned-arts center where the movie was filmed.
