‘Wolverine 3’: Patrick Stewart confirms he’ll be back

To no one”s surprise, Patrick Stewart has revealed that he will be reprising his role as Professor X in the not-yet-titled third Wolverine movie.

In a post on Stewart”s Twitter page, the Golden Globe-nominated actor wrote, “Worst kept secret. #ProfessorX #Wolverine3.”

This will be the seventh time that Stewart has played Charles Xavier/Professor X in either a Wolverine or X-Men film. He first played this role in 2000 in X-Men. He”ll, of course, be joined by Hugh Jackman as the title character.

This news comes just days after Wolverine producer Simon Kinberg stated that this version of the superhero flick will be R-rated. Kinberg also said that the film will be “kind of like a western in its tone.”

The film, which is directed by James Mangold, is scheduled for a 2017 release.
