WWE superstar John Cena announced today on Twitter that he”s planning to return to the squared circle on Raw this Memorial Day, May 30. The grappler underwent rotator cuff surgery on January 7 at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, AL.
“They said the surgery recovery time is 9 months, but I”m ready to go in 5,” Cena wrote on Twitter.
Cena, 39, is one of the highest profile stars of the pro wrestling league. With the exception of a brief appearance at Wrestlemania, he last stepped in the ring in December 2015 against Alberto Del Rio at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Cena won the match via disqualification, but Del Rio kept the United States Championship belt.
In addition to his work with WWE, Cena can now be seen as host of the FOX reality series American Grit.
