Jake Lloyd Of ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace’ Fame Was Arrested After Leading Police On A High-Speed Chase

Yes, it’s true. The young Anakin Skywalker himself, affectionately known as “Little Annie” in Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace, was arrested for reckless driving outside of Charleston, South Carolina. The same town and state that’s currently in the news for a much worse assortment of events.

According to TMZ, the former child actor was driving in Charleston before local police tried to pull him over. That’s when Lloyd gunned it and led the authorities on a high-speed chase for several miles. The chase quickly came to an end when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the road and crashed into a bunch of trees. Aside from his dangerous driving, the 26-year-old was also arrested for his failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license.

There’s no official footage from the scene, although early reports indicate Lloyd’s police chase probably looked something like this — albeit with no audience:
