O’Reilly Downplays His Trump Friendship To Ellen And Swears Trump’s Not An ‘Irresponsible Crazy Man’

On Tuesday, Bill O’Reilly paid a visit to The Ellen Show to chat up the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. In doing so, O’Reilly confirmed to his host (who is a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter) that he and Trump are friends, which was already known because the two regularly enact spectacular counseling sessions that turn into a spectator sport. He tried to tell DeGeneres that they weren’t friends who “hang together,” but DeGeneres quickly fact checked him: “There are pictures of you hanging together.” Busted.

The Fox News talking head revealed his surprise when Trump told him he was running for president: “Of what country?” He then discussed how Trump’s primary debate insult slinging worked because people are so infuriated with politics. But O’Reilly thinks that the Monday general election debate will be “less nasty” and “more measured” than people expect because both candidates know it’s time to talk about the issues and problem solving. O’Reilly did admit surprise at Trump following through with a campaign and actually becoming the Republican nominee because “he has a very thin skin.”

Then, O’Reilly assured DeGeneres that Trump is “not some sort of irresponsible crazy man” who will destroy Russia if Vladimir Putin insults his hand size. And his perspective is that Putin really doesn’t like Trump, he’s only pretending to do so. The Fox News talking head then called Putin a “nasty little guy” that “I’d love to have on my show.” Wouldn’t that be something?
