The Daily Show host Trevor Noah is swiftly developing the Spidey Sense for nonsense that his predecessor did, which is a good thing. After all, it took Jon Stewart years to perfect his persona. And Noah certainly isn’t afraid to ask, “Goddamn, what is this?” when he realizes things may be a little sketchy.

This response was prompted by Noah’s viewing of a recent fatal shooting of 18-year-old Paul O’Neal by Chicago police. Beyond the horror of the incident itself, questions have been raised concerning the body cam worn by the officer who shot O’Neal. The camera didn’t record the actual moments of the shooting, just all the moments before and after it:

“The camera’s got the whole thing except the actual shooting? Makes you ask the question ‘Why are the police only sloppy with evidence against them?’ If I run a red light, they’ve got three camera angles and another with J.J. Abrams commentary track.”

One theory posed by investigators is that a deploying airbag may have caused the camera to turn off during those crucial moments. To prove this wrong, Noah has a TDS correspondent wear a body camera as they bombard him with hidden airbags. The camera continues to record throughout the ordeal.

Not that the footage that was released paints the CPD in a positive light. Noah replays moments that show officers scrambling wildly and firing in the direction of fellow policemen like green Battlefield players. Noah states, “That doesn’t look like a professional police video, it looks like your dad trying to play ‘Call of Duty.'” Check out the whole clip up top.
