A month after David Lynch very publicly backed out of Showtime's “Twin Peaks” revival, the eccentric filmmaker has very publicly backed himself back in.
As he said on Twitter earlier this evening:

All the scripts for the revived series, which will star Kyle MacLachlan and debut in 2016, had already reportedly been written by Lynch and “Peaks” co-creator Mark Frost. But Lynch had previously committed to directing all the episodes, which would vastly outpace his directorial output for this entire century if he went through with it. It was unclear a month ago if Lynch was really quitting or publicly negotiating (whether for more money or for the ability to back out of some or all of that directorial commitment), but he's back in now, and more committed than ever, as confirmed by this statement from Showtime's David Nevins:
“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Pre production starts now!!”
