Firewall & Iceberg, Episode 302: ‘Leftovers,’ ‘Homeland’ & the podcast finale

Well, folks, this is it: the series finale of the Firewall & Iceberg Podcast. Dan and I spent 90 minutes reviewing shows both good and bad, and answering lots of your questions about the 300-plus episodes of our fine endeavor together.

The emails you sent over the last few weeks to firewalliceberg@hitfix.com were genuinely touching (and/or hilarious), and we really appreciated them. As we talk about on the show, we hope this won’t be the last time we’re able to do a podcast together, and in the meantime, I’m exploring some possibilities that I can hopefully announce sometime soon.

But as for this show, there are reviews, there is nostalgia, there are several instances of me yelling “HIEROGLYPH!,” there is an utter failure on our part to utter the phrase “Rory Gilmore sex boat,” and there are a lot of good and goofy feelings.

It’s been a lot of fun. Thanks for coming along on the ride, especially in those early days when we didn’t know what on earth we were doing.

The final rundown:

“Dr. Ken” (00:02:55 – 00:13:30)
“The Leftovers” (00:13:30 – 00:24:30)
“Homeland” (00:24:30 – 00:33:35)
“Red Oaks” (00:33:40 – 00:41:55)
Listener Mail – “Review” Season 2 (00:42:10 – 00:48:35)
Listener Mail – “Fear the Walking Dead” and teens (00:48:35 – 00:54:30)
Listener Mail – Nostalgia (00:54:30 – 01:33:30)

Our plan is to keep the archives up, so you can still find us at the iTunes Store, or via our RSS Feed. As for this particular episode, you can download the MP3 file IHeartRadio or stream it on Dan’s blog.

There’s also now a complete archive of all the podcasts to date right here on HitFix.

See ya in the next podcast, Jack.
