TV Avalanche, Episode 12: ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ ‘American Gods’ & More

Better late than never, it’s time for episode 12 of the TV Avalanche podcast! We had to push things back a day, but that gave us a chance to discuss two Better Call Saul episodes rather than just one, as part of a mega-sized spoiler segment that also features lots of discussion and laughter about this week’s The Leftovers.

Before that, we discuss two exciting new dramas: Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale (my review published yesterday) and Starz’s American Gods (look for more from me on that later this week), sandwiched around a brief reminder that Catastrophe is returning to Amazon on Friday, and that Catastrophe is wonderful.

The craziness of April means we haven’t had time to answer your questions in a few weeks, but the next episode should have a very heavy mailbag component, so please keep sending questions to TVAvalanche@uproxx.com, or tweet using the hashtag #TVAvalanche.

We decided to dip into the Free Music Archive this week to try out some theme music: “Brundlefly” by The Zombie Dandies, which you can listen to in its entirety and download here. Still sanding off various podcast edges, but every week, we hope to sound vaguely more professional.

TV Avalanche is now available on iTunes (please rate and review if you haven’t already), Stitcher, and Android. Still working on Google Play. You can also stream it below or download it from SoundCloud. The rundown:

00:00-01:50 Introduction
01:51-12:14 The Handmaid’s Tale
12:15-16:56 Catastrophe season 3
16:57-26:15 American Gods
26:16-48:35 Better Call Saul: “Witness” & “Sunk Cost” spoilers
