Seth Rogen And Amy Schumer Will Star In One Of Super Bowl 50’s Biggest Ads

Advertisers don’t care if the Panthers beat the Cardinals (#KeepRoaring), or the Broncos crush the Patriots by 75 this weekend. They want you to watch the Super Bowl because they’re being charged $5 million for a 30-second spot, despite a recent study finding that “only one in five commercials produced any meaningful movement for the brand on future purchase intent.”

It’s no wonder #brands are putting their Super Bowl 50 ads online before the big game. The longer they’re out there, the more exposure they’re getting, and few commercials will receive more attention than Seth Rogen and Amy Schumer putting on clothes, and also pretending to drink Bud Light.

According to AdWeek, “the duo will star in the brand’s politically themed campaign through November’s election to get consumers who can’t agree on politics to agree on drinking Bud Light,” because if there’s one thing Democrats and Republicans both support, it’s getting blackout drunk.

A 30-second teaser for the actual Super Bowl commercial was released today (2016!), but one big name is missing: Ronda Rousey, who was recently spotted filming the ad with Schumer in Los Angeles. It’s unclear if Rousey is playing a character, or if she was just on set to drink away her sorrows for free. If it’s the latter, I’ve never related to a commercial more in my life.
