Cartoon Network Is Giving Us A ‘Powerpuff Girls’ Reboot

The Powerpuff Girls are officially making a comeback. Everyone’s favorite animated superheroine trio — who were arguably every ’90s kid’s first feminist role models — is getting a reboot thanks to the Cartoon Network. The series, which debuted back in 1998 and spawned movies, merchandise, video games, and plenty of parodies over the years, is getting a much-deserved new season order next year.

For anyone not in the know about the cartoon crime fighting girl group, the show featured three young ladies — Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup — who used their powers to fight evil and defend their town from all kinds of nasty villains. They also had to deal with sibling rivalry, bed wetting issues, and saying goodbye to much-beloved security blankets. Real world struggles.
