Jared Fogle’s Ex-Wife Is Suing Subway With Claims That The Sandwich Chain Knew Of Her Husband’s Behavior

When former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle was first investigated for child pornography back in July of 2015, his wife Katie Fogle — now Katie McLaughlin — wasted little time before filing for a quick dissolution of the couple’s marriage. Fogle is currently serving a nearly 16 year jail sentence for his crimes, but McLaughlin is now turning her eyes on her ex-husband’s then employer, filing a lawsuit alleging that Subway was aware of his “depravities” and did nothing to intervene.

McLaughlin told reporters at a press conference Monday that she filed the suit “because [she] has questions” and wants to get to find out exactly what Subway knew about Fogle’s indiscretions.

On at least three occasions Subway, received reports about Fogle’s sexual interest in children. Subway officials investigated, but took no action, the suit claims.

As early as 2004, Subway’s senior vice president of marketing was told that Fogle approached a young girl for a sex act at a Las Vegas Subway event. Subway sent a public relations manger to ask Fogle and a franchisee about the incident. Subway did not contact the girl and did nothing more, the suit alleges.

The suit also claims that Subway turned Fogle’s family into a “marketing tool” using their likenesses without consent, and that the chain’s “ambition for sales and growth came at the expense of his wife and children.” McLaughlin is requesting an unspecified amount of damages.
