By now, you’ve heard how President Obama dropped the N-word while speaking to Marc Maron on the WTF podcast. Obama discussed many subjects, but the internet zeroed in on one word. While talking about discrimination and whether or not racism still exists, Obama used the N-word to illustrate a point. The immediate Twitter backlash proves that point. Here is exactly what Obama said:
“The legacy of slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination in almost every institution of our lives, you know, that casts a long shadow, and that’s still part of our DNA that’s passed on. We’re not cured of it. Racism. We are not cured of. It’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say n*gger in public. That’s not the measure whether racism still exists or not. It’ s not just a matter of overt discrimination. We have; societies don’t overnight completely erase everything that happened 200 or 300 years prior.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest issued a follow-up statement, saying Obama has “no regrets” about using the n-word: “He does not. The president’s use of the word and the reason he used the word could not be more apparent.”
Twitter is running wild with reactions to Obama’s choice of words. Here are several of the best freak-out (and freak-outs about freak-outs) examples:
Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States (to use the n-word).

Obama isn't the first President to use the N word just the first one that wasn't referring to one of his slaves.

White folks more mad at Obama and @deray than they are at Dylann Roof. This country is irrevocably broken.

PRO TIP: The fact that President Obama used the n-word does not mean it’s ok for you to do the same, white teenager in a Aeropostale t-shirt

Obama obviously used the N-word because he's an uncouth racist who hates black people and doesn't care who knows it and is in the KKK duh.
