Over the past year, the folks at Sesame Street have exercised their creative muscles by delivering some pretty fantastic parody videos which have taken on everything from House of Cards, to Game of Thrones, and even to that famous — albeit inappropriate — orgasm scene from When Harry Met Sally. The long running children’s program has made a habit of delivering entertainment on two levels, and with the recent deal between the series and HBO, it looks like kids will be getting educated on a more premium level moving forward.
While this is definitely a smart move for the cable network — and a sad turn of events for the world of public broadcasting — one has got to wonder how Sesame Street‘s quality of programming will change once the new episodes hit the premium service. Well, thanks to the above parody video from Barely Productions, we’re given some insight as to how Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, and Grover will all acclimate to the move. Truth be told, simultaneously delivering educational entertainment to children and adults can sometimes be a challenge. But if the Count can teach us numbers while dishing the God’s honest truth about True Blood, maybe everything is truly in its right place.
In all seriousness though, HBO might want to consider casting Burt and Ernie in the next season of True Detective. Full disclosure: I’d watch the ever-loving crap out of that!
