With a name like “Peter Sarsgaard,” you’d think that Peter Sarsgaard was a shoe-in to join the cast of Fargo. But he’s not! He’s actually joining the cast of the new Twin Peaks, which could be just as fantastic. Few details are being leaked about the new Showtime series, which is a good thing as far as the show’s creator David Lynch is concerned, but we do know that Sarsgaard will join Amanda Seyfried, Balthazar Getty, and Robert Knepper as a newcomer to the freaky revival. Andrew W.K. has also expressed interest in playing Bob, and I feel like Lynch is crazy enough to let that happen.
As far as the original cast goes, it seems like many are on board if they end up being asked, but the only confirmed original cast member to join so far is Agent Cooper himself Kyle MacLachlan, who said back in June that the series was bound to be “amazing.” And that’s actually a relief, because if you’ve seen the series finale… I’ll just say that we’re going to need to hear from Agent Cooper. Even just to see how he’s doing these days. Because sadly, we won’t be able to ask the Log Lady. R.I.P., Log Lady.
