Bernie Sanders is rallying some heavy-hitters of the music industry to help with his fundraiser on February 5th in Los Angeles, days after the February 1st Iowa caucus ends and the February 9th New Hampshire caucus begins. So what better way for to “feel the Bern” than with a dose of Red Hot Chili Peppers? Tickets will cost between $40 – $2700. But hey – that’s not bad for a solid lineup of artists, especially when the cash would go to support a cause ticket buyers believe in.
But even before the Chili Peppers play in Los Angeles, the focus for the democratic socialist is on winning Iowa, and Iowans will enjoy another quality musical lineup consisting of one half of the top tag team for two (3?) summers, Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike, as well as members of Vampire Weekend and Foster The People. The eclectic crew of Bernie supporters will play January 30th in Iowa for the “Students of Bernie” rally.
Killer Mike isn’t a surprise – he’s been an outspoken Bernie supporter for nearly the entirety of the Vermont Senator’s presidential bid, and held an enlightening series of interviews with Sanders in Atlanta late last year. The list of artists and people of note behind Senator Sanders just keeps growing.
Meanwhile, the GOP is still wondering who Ted Nugent will be playing a thirty to forty-year-old song for: Ted Cruz or Donald Trump.
