Last year’s hit USA Network series Mr. Robot felt like it simply materialized out of nowhere and blew everyone away. While I won’t say that USA Network shows aren’t good, they just don’t tend to be as good as Mr. Robot was. Mr. Robot wasn’t just a good show for the USA Network, Mr. Robot was a great show amidst one of television’s golden ages of scripted programming. That’s a big deal. It was a dark, moody, well-written show that stood out from the network’s other offerings, which include Suits, Royal Pains, and WWE programming.
Needless to say, the second season of Mr. Robot has been eagerly anticipated after the amazing season finale. Now, according to Variety, we have a start date for the second season of Mr. Robot and that is July 13th. The second season of the show is set to check in with Elliot amidst the fallout of fsociety’s legendary hack that helped to define the first season of the show, including the consequences of taking on a huge company such as the show’s Evil Corporation.
The second season will still include Golden Globe winner for best supporting actor Christian Slater to some degree, although they seem to be keeping a rather tight lid on what to expect from the second season. You’ll just have to wait until July 13th like the rest of us to find out more.
