We have begun the long winter between seasons of Game of Thrones, as we impatiently wait to return to Westeros. Much to the dismay of many fans, the ending is in sight for the HBO juggernaut, but that doesn’t mean that our anxiety over who will make it out alive is lessened in any way. Sophie Turner hears your pleas for answers, and while she has received the season seven scripts, she’s playing things pretty close to the chest (duh). Variety reports that there could be a few ways for Sansa to go.
“I actually don’t know because of the way last season left off. There are so many options,” she teased. “She could run with Littlefinger and become a villain and sadistic. Or she could also team up with her brother Jon.”
The thought of Starks fighting is almost too much to bear, secret Targaryen or not. However, Turner seems to have only one request for her character’s fate.
“A long, slow episode-lasting death, where it’s just one long scene of my death and no one else,” she joked. “And it’s going to be the last episode of the last season.”
Honestly, death is nearly a given on Game of Thrones, so exiting with flair is really all one can hope for. Turner also acknowledges that leaving the show behind will be hard for everyone, actor and fan alike.
“It’s really sad. It’s really uncomfortable to think about my life without Game of Thrones. Not only has it been like a family — going to see a family every summer — but it’s also been a safety net. When I finish this I don’t actually know what’s going to happen. I might slip into a deep, deep depression because I won’t know what to do with myself. It’s going to be very strange. I feel people are going to miss it dearly.”
All good things must come to an end, but does it have to end so soon?
