So the executive producer of Lindsay Lohan’s big fancy Lifetime movie about Elizabeth Taylor did a conference call the other day, right? And during the call he said lots of stuff like “Producing a movie with Lindsay Lohan is not for the faint of heart” and “I’ve certainly worked with actresses whose behavior during production was less problematic than Lindsay” and “[Lohan] literally at this time in her life knows no boundaries,” which is pretty much par for the course at this point of Lindsay Lohan’s career, especially considering she just bailed on a Barbara Walters interview to go do a softball chucklefest with Jay Leno. I mean, it’s kind of weird for a producer to say all that about the star of his film just 10 days before it premieres, but whatever, fine. Lohan’s personal life is a wreck. Got it.
But then — THEN — he said this, which stripped of any context is just a hilariously mean and unnecessary thing to say:
Elizabeth Taylor differs from Lohan in one respect, Thompson acknowledged: “Elizabeth Taylor had extraordinary beauty.”
Now, the article goes on to say that the producer is an Elizabeth Taylor mega-fan, to a pretty creepy extent, so this was probably more of an attempt to praise Taylor than bash Lohan, but still, SHEESH, you know?
Let’s check in with Biz Markie for his take on the situation.
Well said, Biz.
