Leslie Jones has already addressed her online troubles earlier this season on SNL, using the services of the Mr. Robot crew to find out who was behind the hack of her website and personal files. It was a funny sketch near the end of the night, but you somehow knew it wouldn’t be the end for Jones and her own personal issues this season. Hacking has been a big issue in the headlines this summer, between the DNC hack and the DDoS attack that brought the internet to a standstill on Friday. All of it provided an open door for Jones to address her “trolls” and her hack once again, this time in the confines of Weekend Update.
For Jones, nobody can embarrass her more than she’s embarrassed herself in life. “If you want to see Leslie Jones naked, just ask,” she says while discussing the real trolls in her life like the woman who attacked her with a shovel at a bus stop or Prince. I don’t think Leslie Jones looks like Chris Rock or why Prince was smiling while walking towards Chris Rock, but it works as a story.
She then goes on to talk about what she would do if she was actually good with computers, like removing every woman but her from Tinder or just creating her own version of Westworld called “Leslieworld.” I’m not sure I’d want my own Westworld theme park. First, you’re currently seeing how bad our tech is when faced with some cheap code and bad security, something you know would affect your robots because you’re cheap. Second, Westworld ends poorly for everybody, at least in the original film. You’re either suffocating in a control room or being shot by a drunken Yul Brynner.
