Jimmy Kimmel has had no trouble using the topic of America’s dysfunctional government as a subversive device to make fun of its citizens. He started by highlighting the opinionated ignorance of Hollywood Boulevard denizens by asking whether they prefer Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act before escalating to more confusing questions. Now he’s just flat-out coming up with questions that make fun of people to their faces.
Last night Kimmel had his clever interviewer (almost certainly longtime writer Tony Barbieri) blast the appearances of people on the street with a series of stereotype-jammed zingers — barely masked as questions, though few of the interviewees seemed to catch on — that ranged from hilariously spot-on to absolutely ruthless.
