Zsa Zsa Gabor, one of the last remaining stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age, died on Sunday at age 99. She had gone through a variety of health crises in the last decade-plus, including an amputation of one leg and multiple strokes. Not to mention the state of partial paralysis she had been in since 2002. Gabor (and her sister Eva) were probably best known for their status as Hollywood socialites — some of the first people to be famous just for being famous.

Both sisters were stunning, glamorous, and known for their style and grace. But Zsa Zsa especially caught the eye of many and was known for her nine (nine!) marriages. She once stated that she “never hated a man enough to give him his diamonds back” which proves what an enviable level of confidence she had. Many assumed that she, like her contemporaries Olivia de Havilland and Kirk Douglas, would seemingly be around forever. After her death, fans and Hollywood staples tweeted about her career, impact, and legacy.

Gabor had been almost completely out of the public eye in the few years before her death, and would have been 100 in February. She is just the latest in a long line of legends that 2016 has taken from us. Two more weeks, and the year is over! And then celebrities will stop dying forever, right?
