Late Night host Seth Meyers comes from the Jimmy Fallon school of late night hosting, which is to say: He doesn’t get involved in politics. He avoids controversy. And he doesn’t ruffle any feathers. He, like Fallon, believes that the job of a late-night host is to say: If you invite people over, it’s your job to entertain them, make them feel comfortable, and show them a good time.
All of which is why it’s strange to see Seth Meyers, of all people, step into the Sony hacker fray*. In a new segment he’s calling “Bring It On,” Seth Meyers challenges the Sony hackers to come at him. He’s got nothing to hide. In fact, he’s inviting the hackers to hack into ALL of NBC’s servers, much to the chagrin of NBC. Bring it on!
(*There is nothing feather-ruffling about this segment whatsoever, but it is amusingly self-deprecating).
