Andrew Wiggins Rises Up Over Aron Baynes For A Big Two-Handed Slam

After beating Kentavious Caldwell-Pope off the dribble, Andrew Wiggins exploded to the rim for a monster jam over/around Pistons’ big man Aron Baynes, who didn’t stand a chance against the hyper-athletic Timberwolves swingman. Wiggins finished with a team-high 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting, to go along with five rebounds and three assists.

But the ‘Wolves would end up falling to the Pistons 96-86. Andre Drummond continued his eye-popping double-double streak as he posted 21 points and 11 rebounds on a highly-efficient 10-of-13 shooting from the field and had a pair of steals and a block. Marcus Morris added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Detroit, while point guard Reggie Jackson chipped in 18 points, five rebounds and five assists on 8-of-15 from the floor.

No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns tightened his grip on the Rookie of the Year race as the held his own against the red-hot Drummond and filled up the box sheet with another jaw-dropping stat line: 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a pair of blocks on 8-of-10 shooting from the field.

Ricky Rubio and Zach LaVine added 12 and 14 points, respectively, for Minnesota as they fell to 5-8 to start the season and remain winless on their home floor. Their 0-6 start at the Target Center is the second-worst mark in franchise history, per NBA.com.
