Anthony Davis Reportedly Got Turned Away At An L.A. Restaurant For Wearing A Hoodie

Anthony Davis is a very recognizable individual, being that he’s nearly seven feet tall and has his trademarke unibrow. One would think being an NBA star would exclude you from some rules that private establishments may have, but that wasn’t the case for Davis on Monday night in Los Angeles.

According to Page Six, Davis and some teammates got turned away from Katana, an upscale Japanese restaurant in West Hollywood, because he was in a Pelicans hoodie, which didn’t meet the restaurant’s dress code. The eyewitness account given to Page Six says Davis pleaded with the doorman, saying he would even pay for a private room, but was still rebuffed and eventually he and his teammates returned to their SUV.

The best part of the story, though, is the very end of the witness’ account of the incident.
“Davis got back in his SUV and left, and only then did the restaurant manager come running out, freaking out at the doorman,” said the witness.

Of course the manager was upset that you just turned away business from a group of millionaire athletes that were willing to fork over big money for a private room. I understand that rules are important and the doorman was doing his job.

But you’d think he’d at least check with the manager to see if, I don’t know, maybe it’s okay to let the super tall, rich guys in NBA sweatshirts rent the private room in the back.
