New Balance and Boston-based retailer Concepts are closing out 2015 with a solid 998 release dubbed the “Grand Tourer.” The nickname draws from the grand tourer as “a performance and luxury automobile capable of high speeds and long-distance driving” with not only comfort but style in mind. The model uses a clean grey base paired with hits of off-white, sea green and bright red “taken from European road maps, race stickers and premium car interiors” and give a bit of pop to an otherwise subtle look. With it being Concepts, material options here are premium with pig suede and perforated suede panels throw into the mix with a reflective logo and faux carbon-fiber heel support.
The ‘Grand Tourer’ 998 releases on Saturday, Dec. 26 at Concepts Boston and NYC locations, plus there’s an exclusive pop-up shop hosted with Period Correct in Costa Mesa, California. For the geographically challenged, there will be an online drop at the Concepts online shop at noon EST. Pray that bad boy buckle under the rush of people looking to spend their Christmas cash real fast.
