J.R. Smith is known for many things that lie outside his job as an NBA role player. Among them are shirtlessness, pipes, partying, and marijuana use.
It should come as no surprise that Smith is spending his honeymoon, then, in the world’s cannabis capital. His recent posts on Instagram reveal that he’s celebrating his marriage in Amsterdam, Holland:

One does not have a hard time imaging Smith in the Red Light District, smiling wider than the sun as he holds his wife’s hand and peers astonished at the dense strip of sex shows and drug-friendly storefronts. Such a spectacle seems like it might make the notoriously mischievous guard second-guess his decision to settle down, but a commitment to lifelong monogamy, obviously, has a way of changing people.
It is quite miraculous, in any event, that we haven’t seen Smith making hay in Amsterdam until just now. Such a location is manifest destiny for the league’s most prized party boy.
Also of note? Smith is still a free agent after winning a title with the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s considered a formality that he re-signs with the defending champions, but we’ll keep you posted if his trip to Amsterdam and everything that comes with it changes things.
