You may have heard that Magic Johnson and the Lakers found themselves in hot water recently after the Pacers requested that the league look into possible tampering violations involving Paul George. George has made no secret that he wants to play for his hometown team in Los Angeles, and Johnson, as the new team president of basketball operations, has publicly admitted to making overtures to the All-Star forward.
And George isn’t the only superstar being linked to L.A. There have been all sorts of rumors about LeBron James heading West when he becomes a free agent next summer, but perhaps having read the writing on the wall, Lonzo Ball isn’t about to get caught up in any scandals, no matter how hilariously persistent a certain reporter was with him recently.

It became clear after a question or two that this was little more than an impromptu comedy routine, but Lonzo deserves major props for recognizing the gag and being a good sport about it, while expertly avoiding any specific mention of the player in question who may or may not want to join the Lakers next summer.
The Lakers rookie is already an ace at dealing with the media, which is one of the most important skills he’ll need in a major market like Los Angeles.
