Nikola Jokic is having one heck of a rookie season, but he didn’t have the best three-second stretch against the Hornets when Marvin Williams swatted his first attempt and Cody Zeller followed it up with back-to-back stuffs at the rim.
Jokic isn’t exactly the most athletic man on the court, so even with his skill set, it’s not completely shocking that he could get stuffed at the rim a few times in a row. The guy returning those attempts might make you raise a brow, though.
Williams will get his blocks. He’s averaging one a game. But Zeller, just in that two-second span, tripled his blocks per game average of 0.7 a night. That wasn’t it for the Hornets big man, either. Zeller has added three more blocks against the Nuggets and has already totaled a career-high five swats on the evening with time still to go in the game.
