Overshadowed by the 81 and even the 61 at Madison Square Garden, this is one of the great performances of Kobe Bryant‘s career that people sometimes forget: On December 20, 2005, Kobe put up 62 points on 18-of-31 from the field and 22-of-25 at the line, four threes, eight rebounds, three steals and, um, zero assists. And this wasn’t against some scrub team. The ’05-06 Mavericks would go on to the NBA Finals. Oh, and don’t forget Kobe produced those numbers while sitting out the fourth quarter. But about a month later he dropped 81 and turned this into not even the most memorable game of his season.
