Forbes magazine has once again printed its list of the 10 highest-paid male actors in Hollywood (I feel like this is what Forbes does almost exclusively now. They just kinda count peoples’ money it seems.) And at the top of that list for the second year in a row is none other than Robert Downey Jr.. No surprises there, as movies with ‘Iron Man’ in the title seem to be the only movies people will actually watch in a movie theater nowadays. Forbes explains:
Downey reigns as the highest paid man in Hollywood because at this point, it would be incredibly difficult for Marvel to continue making Iron Man and Avengers films without him. Marvel movies starring Downey have earned almost $4 billion at the global box office and millions more on home video, not to mention the millions the movies have generated in merchandise.
Forbes is estimating that Robert Downey Jr. earned about $75 million between June 2013 and June 2014. Usually I would be quite resentful of a man (especially an actor) earning such a gratuitous amount of money in such a short period of time, but Downey might actually be the most deserving of the number one spot on this list being that he is SO… F**KING… TALENTED.
Here is the list of the other 9 highest paid actors who aren’t as talented as RDJ.
#2 – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ($52 million)
#3 – Bradley Cooper ($46 million)
#4 – Leonardo DiCaprio ($39 million)
#5 – Chris Hemsworth ($37 million)
#6 – Liam Neeson ($36 million)
#7 – Ben Affleck ($35 million)
#8 – Christian Bale ($35 million)
#9 – Will Smith ($32 million)
#10 – Mark Wahlberg ($32 million)
I think if this list proves anything, it’s that it doesn’t matter what Will Smith does he will always be one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood.
