(no nudity, but NSFW for language)
While I was at the AVNs, I spent some time with Lee Roy Myers as he was shooting his Ask A Porn Star series for Woodrocket. Naturally, there were lots of dumb or funny questions, and that old late night standby, stars reading their hate mail. It’s one of those bits that makes for consistent comedy on Kimmel or Fallon, but we quickly found out that porn star hate mail is waaaaay too intense to be played for comedy. It was compelling in a different way.
Being naked on the internet seems to invite a whole new class of possessive, hateful, and frequently racist troll. It makes a sick sort of sense – like the world’s worse Venn diagram, anger over porn brings together a number of separate groups. Religious nuts, racists, obsessed fans, entitled fans, lonely boyz, those with strange but specific fetishes, and of course, your garden variety wackos and misogynists. I certainly could’ve guessed that they received this kind of mail, but it’s one thing to know in sort of a general way, and another to hear the specific messages read by the targets of them. It takes a lot to shock me, especially on a day when I’d already seen a Japanese-made motorized vagina that syncs with your computer, but watching Anikka Albrite read that message about her womb being destroyed by black and Jew semen came pretty close.
Even, so, I have to admit I laughed at “you think sucking dick real job?” Goes to show, broken English can make damn near anything funny. I hope I’m never a POW.
