Jeff Who Lives at Home, the most recent film from the Duplass Brothers, starring Ed Helms, Susan Sarandon, and Jason Segel, opens this weekend, and recently had its press junket. Instead of doing the usual round of press tour interviews, where actors postulate on the background and motivations of fictitious characters they didn’t write, our friends at ScreenJunkies sent over German DJ Flula Borg, who made a song with their mouth farts. …I sense I should explain. See, instead of asking boring interview questions, he asked the actors to make a sound, and then created a remix song with them. The result is pretty awesome. But then, we’re probably the perfect audience for German mouthfart songs.
If DJ Flula Borg looks/sounds familiar, that’s because this isn’t the first time he and FilmDrunk have crossed paths. He showed up on a past Frotcast as the German guy trying to understand the phrase “party pooper.” Apparently he has quite of few of these videos in which he faux-misunderstands American idioms. He also made a famous appearance on a Current TV show about the guys in LA who give drunk drivers rides home, where Flula was the guy who needed a ride home:
(He shows up around the 2:20 mark).
“My name is Flula Borg, I am a German DJ, I have come to Los Angeles to become a music man. To make za people dance around.”
“Public transportation, it is like a small baby here. It is like it doesn’t know what to do, viss diapers and pooping everywhere. In Germany, in Deutscheland, it is better, it is like an adult Greg Louganis. It knows what to do, it is dancing on the diving board.”
I support sending this guy to all future press junkets. Most press junkets are like small pigeons, cooing and bumping into each other and flapping in circles. With Flula Borg they are like an adult Martina Navratilova, drinking champagne from doubles trophy.
